The Teen Fashionista

As you may or may not know I am the proud mother of two teenage daughters. Their names are Alexandrina and Gabriella (better known as Alex or Nani (right) and Bella (left)) and they are 17 and 16. So when pondering a column that catered to teens.....well who better than my own!

Both girls are in High school. Alex is a senior and will be embarking upon her first year in college next year, while Bella is a Sophomore. The girls are cheerleaders. Alex is varsity Bella is J.V.

One may think that with a mother who is an avid fashionista that both my girls would be as well. Guess what? They are, but each with her own very distinct idea as to what her own style is. Teenage years are about exploring and playing with fashion!

For all you mothers of teens I hope my column will help you in your quest to buy gifts or shop for your teens. I can't promise I will help you to understand them any better.

For all you teens out there who like fashion your way I hope Alex and Bella's column helps you. This will be a mother daughter endeavor that will help all you mothers and daughters in your quest for fashion your way! ............Yvonne (Mom)

Yeah right Mom!  We'll be writing about a lot more than just fashion.  It will be about the stuff we, and other teenagers alike, would enjoy.  Our column will go beyond fashion.  We will be letting people our age know what upcoming shows will be playing at the Rialto or Scrappys, or Phoenix, etc.  We'll show you the places and things we like to shop for when we're at the mall. (And its not just Abercrombie, its Hot Topic, sorry Mom! :) )  We'll tell you why we love Hot Topic's band t-shirts and the accessories you can buy with them.  It's all about our fashion and our music!  Be back next week with an update of Mests show coming up in February!...............Alex

Yeah right Nani! First of all I LOVE Abercrombie.. I'm A LOT more girly girl than Nani... I love great shoes and an awesome hand bag.. (inherited from mother) I agree with Nani about the music.. But I'm not crazy about Mest, although Home Grown will be with them so I'll be there!

I LOVE Seychelles, the cutest flats ever! I picked them up at Dillard"s for a little over 30 dollars, I wear them with EVERYTHING when I'm not wearing my Converse, or my Rebels (the ugg boots), they are so comfortable I could live in them! not to mention the fact that they look awesome with skirts! We found the cutest skirts at Abercrombie but one of our greatest finds was this really cute pink pea coat at the kids Abercrombie. what a deal that was, and if you bought the exact same one at the adult Abercrombie you paid twice as much.. talk about a score! I'll have more on some great shoes, and where you can get them, also great jeans, everyone needs those, and where I get my favorite button down collared shirts to wear under EVERYTHING next week.

If you love to read like I love to read, and you don't want some book for a ten year old disguised as a teen book than you'll love the GOSSIP GIRL series, by Cecily von Ziegesar. I eagerly await each new book in the series. So far there are four, Gossip Girl, You Know You Love Me ,All I Want Is Everything and  Because I'm Worth It. This is our Sex And The City and it is good! I'll keep you updated on more great stuff. I know you'll be waiting! You know you love me.............Bella
