The  Fashionista Black Friday Guide

Where, What and When To Get To Those Sales!

(Brought to you by www.tucsonfashionista )

You will want to get to the stores early to get some of the best deals in town! Of course you can always sleep late and walk on over to the computer to catch the internets best deals, a true fashionista will do both.

Open on Thanksgiving Day.......................

Walgreen's

Osco

Comp USA (opens at 11:59 pm)

On Thanksgiving you will find some really great deals on DVD players at Walgreen's.  Osco also has a DVD player on sale for $99.99 They even have a Flat screen TV for the same price! This is a great time to buy that TV for the extra room, kitchen, work room or office.  You will also get a head start on some great specials make-up. Ladies this is your chance to save money on the stuff you use everyday or with these savings you can go ahead and try something new. I love drugstore cosmetics. I go cosmetic crazy in there! Walgreen's is one place where I load up on candles. I get hundreds of the tea lights for next to nothing. I load up because so many Christmas Decorations include candles and candles are a great and inexpensive way to decorate. For one party I bought a bunch of votive candles in the glass at Walgreen's. they were in packages of ten for $4.00. I bought almost 100. I put them every where and had the party by candle light only. Everyone looks better by candle light. Now is the time to buy these candles to use now and throughout the year! Another great thing about stores like Osco and Walgreen's being open on Thanksgiving is that you can run over to pick up something you forgot. They are great to help you out in a pinch. Oh and don't forget the usual stuff like cold and cough medicine that is on sale right now. Make sure you buy these meds on sale they can really be expensive.

When you are decorating, wrapping and gift giving drugstores and grocery stores can be a great resource for inexpensive ways to help you with this stuff. Go ahead and be creative when doing all your Christmas tasks. Be a creative shopper!

Really, Really Early Specials....................................

Disney Store opens at 4am

Everything at Disney store will be 20% off but only for a dew hours till noon. If you love Mickey this is the place. Set that alarm clock early. In fact you may want to eat your dinner, take a walk and head off to bed to be ready!

Early Bird Specials, Stores That open at 5am........

Mervyn's

Wal-Mart

Target (6am)

Sam's Club

Best Buy

Circuit City

Toys R Us(6am)

JC Penney

KB Toys

Kohl's

The hot toy of the season is Amazing Amanda. If you are brave enough to brave the morning crowds at Toys R Us be prepared. They run out of carts right away so take your own big bags to carry things. I went a few years ago and was trying to carry my things in my hands. Not a good way to load up on seals when people will take things away from you. The worst part was waiting hours in line to pay. I know it is worth it if you have a lot to buy. I left and bought the same items 2 hours later in a much more peaceful environment at KB  toy store. They had the item they were out of at Toys R Us and it was the same price. However Toys R Us does have plenty of early bird specials that no one else has. They also have the largest selection.  If you are going to hit Toys R Us make this your earliest stop and I advise that you get there at 4:30 to wait in line and get a cart. Know you want this is not the day to browse trust me every one else knows what they want and if you browse it will be gone. Also Toys R Us is not for sissies. There is nothing like a determined parent with a 4 year old at home howling for Dancing Elmo or that season's hottest toy. Be ready to get tuff because trust me they will! Guard your treasures like an armored guard or I promise you will lose it. Have a strategy and know what you want. It is best if you have someone else to help you so that you can get more than one hot toy. II cannot stress enough the need to strategize when toy shopping. Be quick so you can get to the counter before the huge lines.

Wal-mart is having a big sale on DVD players. they also had the X boxes but they went very quickly. In Atlanta the X boxes were sold on a first come first serve basis instead of picking a number. the crowd rushed and people were tramples. it took ten policemen to calm people down! Now I love to have the trendiest item as much as the next guy but I guess I am a lazy sissy because I just don't get it! Sam's Club will open at % am also. They are really upgrading and if you have seen their print ad they are going for the luxury items. The have Kate Spade bags at $119.00 These bags usually go for a little over $300.00. I suggest you get a move on for these bags because they will not be there for long. I have a feeling that the $119.00 Kate Spades are the "Amazing Amandas" of the big girls! Very hot.

The rest of the major stores in malls and others will be open by 7am

Dillard's has some great sales especially  in children's and Juniors. I was there the other day and bought some great stuff by Laundry, BCBG, and many other in their designer section. Dillard's really has improved and now has some of the hottest brands and carries boutique brands.

Macy's has some great sales on holiday decorating items. They have great deals on holiday china and glass wear. You could decorate you whole house with the deals you will get at Macy's but hurry because it will not last long.

Pier 1 has some truly beautiful Christmas items this year and they are giving an extra 10% off this weekend on everything you buy even the sale items and they have tons of holiday items that are 50% off. make sure you get there this weekend because the extra 10% will be over after that.
