Great Fashionista Vacays!
Well my dears summer is here, kids are getting out
of school and you know that means....Vacay!!!!!!! Vacation
can be so fun or not. Let's face it for a fashionista there is
never a vacay from fashion, so why not take a vacation that
revolves around fashion? Hey most vacays do anyway. I mean why
else would you need 10 trunks to hold your treasures!
Jacqueline Kennedy The White House Years at the
Field Museum in Chicago, IL is a great place to pay homage to the
queen of American fashionista's.
This exhibit presents more than 70 garments worn
by the great fashion icon herself. There will be photographs
(hopefully some of John Jr. God rest his soul) documents, and film
clips, these fashions reveal how the former first lady carefully
shaped her image to reflect the vigor, ideals and internationalism
of her husband's administration. But more than that we get to see
all those fabulous gowns and pill hats that are still so vogue!

Images of Fashion from the Court of Louis xiv
LACMA - Los Angeles, Ca
This your chance to see true French fashion and a
real "fashion plate". This is so exciting! The focal
point of Images of Fashion is the recent acquisition of an
exceedingly rare folio of 190 colored engravings dating from
1678-1693. These images -among the first fashion plates in
existence (but of course my dear) were authorized by Louis XIV and
his finance minister, Colbert, to promote French luxury goods and
culture. They defined our modern concept of fashion. And here we
thought it was Chanel! Dates: 3/2/2005 through 6/26/2005

One of the most revered designers of the 20th
century ( come on you know you see the tweed jacket everywhere and
the quilted bags and logos!). Coco Chanel (1883-1971) made an
enduring impact on the fashion world. It is the authority and
mastery of her work, the resonance of her image of the modern
woman. Remember we have her to thank for the tan craze. She was
the first to sport a tan and make it chic, sporty and elegant. In
this exhibition the House of Chanel gives an unprecedented
presentation of more than 50 designs, Of course the work of Karl
Lagerfeld will be on show as well. Dates 5/5/2005 through
