On this page I will bring to your attention the best books I can find that contain a plot that includes lots of Designer items and shopping. Believe me with books these days titled The Devil Wears Prada it seems there are quite a few. Happy reading!

Well, if you have read adventures in shopping you know that biggest addiction is buying books! Every time I walk into a bookstore I just see so many books that all look so good. It's like walking into a great smelling bakery! I want to eat each and every one.

When I go to a bookstore I end up buying at least five books (and I was just there yesterday!) so I am reading about 6 books at the same time. You see to me reading is like eating. In the morning I may be in the mood for eggs and bagels at lunch I want a salad and at dinner I want enchiladas! I feel the same way about books, so I am reading a biography (Jane Fonda, soooo good), Tom Wolf's "I am Charlotte Simmons." This is a great book by a a man who has been called one of the greatest writers of our time. I am also reading "The Tipping Point" This is a fascinating book about that moment when an idea spreads like wildfire. Why a new product is suddenly popular and best of all the moment when and how some thing becomes a trend or the hottest thing in fashion!

In my car I am listening to "Shop Girl." I love audio books and this is a great book by Steve Martin that has been made into a movie. The movie is starring Claire Danes and Steve Martin.

This is the latest from the one of the best writers who ever wore Manolos. This is Candace Bushnell's (writer of Sex And The City). This time the book is about women in their 40's in New York who are at the top of their game career wise and how they work to stay there. It is also about the difficulty of having and keeping a personal life, things like lovers, families, husband's and children for women who really do want to have it all!

With all the fuss about SEX AND THE CITY you may want more that just a Sunday episode. Lucky you . Candace Bushnell who wrote the book/column also wrote a few others with that same sexy style. Four Blondes is a book with four vignettes about..... you guessed it four blondes. Each has her own style and story you will love.

Following up on Four Blondes or I should say following the character Janey who we first meet in Four Blondes is the engrossing Trading Up. I could not put this book down and neither will you. Read about a Victoria's Secret model her married to a rock star sister and her voracious ambition. Lots of shopping in New York here girls. You'll love it!

This book is full of fashion and fun. Oh yes and notice that the shoes on the cover are Christian Loboutin. The red soles are the giveaway. I love his shoes almost as much as I love her books!

Wolves in Chic Clothing is another great read by the same authors that brought us The Right Address, This book is all about Julia a hip girl from downtown New York who gets adopted by young socialites! There is tons of fashion in this book and I know you will love it!

Of Course we can't forget The Devil Wears Prada. This book is based on Anna Wintour and the movie is due out this year 05 and Meryl Streep is slated to play Miranda (Anna)

If you really want the lowdown on Anna Wintour the editor of Vogue. be sure and read the bio Front Row I also "Pink Sugared" this book. This is a must read and it will keep you up all night!

Now no teen fashionista (or of any age) will want to miss out on the next installment of the Gossip Girl series. I love this series of books. It's Sex and The City for the younger set! They are so addicting. I love, love, love them!

Love the style of Kate Spade. She's got style in Spades! Her book Style will give you some great ideas. Kate is the queen of ladylike style style with a hip urban twist. I love, love, love this book! Remember it's always great to get style ideas and tips from famous fashionistas but remember to give everything your own personal touch. There is only one Kate Spade, Sarah Jessica, Jackie O and only one you. You chic thing you!
